About Jeff Blackwell
Jeff Blackwell is an attorney who represents people and companies throughout Alabama. Jeff began practicing law in 1995 with a distinguished Birmingham law firm that actively litigated cases on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants. Jeff practiced in Birmingham for 3 years. During these first 3 years as an attorney, Jeff orally argued a case before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, obtained a large recovery for his clients in another case involving a statewide consumer class action, and successfully defended a large corporation at trial from fraud claims.
By 1998, Jeff wanted to focus his litigation practice solely on representing Plaintiffs in cases of significant damages or injuries. He also wanted to move home to North Alabama. Soon afterward, he joined his present firm of Hornsby, Watson, Hornsby, Blackwell & McKown.
Jeff focuses his practice on representing Plaintiffs. He routinely handles cases involving significant injury or damages in counties throughout Alabama. He has tried cases to verdict in multiple counties, including most of the counties in North Alabama, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. As part of his practice, Jeff has also successfully concluded multiple appeals before The Alabama Supreme Court and Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.
Jeff grew up in North Alabama. His family is from Decatur and Athens, Alabama. He obtained an undergraduate degree in Accounting and attended law school at the University of Alabama. Jeff now lives in Huntsville at the foot of Monte Sano with his wife and 3 children. He is active at Central Presbyterian Church.
